Gratitude really is the attitude…

One of my personal practices that has supported me throughout my life is gratitude. Studies have shown that our thought patterns and beliefs have the power to shape our perspective. It is through the law of attraction that backs up this belief. “We attract what we think about” Think about red cars, you’ll see red cars. Think about bills and debt, receive more bills and debt… you get what I mean? So with this in my awareness and by paying attention to my thought process, I’m able to recognize when my thought patterns are negative and causing more misfortune than relief. When I recognize those thought patters coming up, (because I’m human and at times I navigate with inner fears and insecurities too), I can then take what I call the “Sacred Pause”, and then I begin to list three things that I am grateful for. Sometimes this is mentally listed, verbally listed, or even physically listed on paper. Seeing the things out in front of me really support my nervous system with these belief patterns, and sometimes when I’m listing things out, I find myself writing in more and more depth the specific details of what I am grateful for. After 5.. 10.. 15 minutes I feel myself feeling more at ease about whatever fears or insecurities coming up because I no longer have this tunnel vision directing me to my worries.

So my invitation for you, dear reader, is to invite the introspection just for today.. “What are three things I am grateful for?

Thank you for reading.
