A Queen’s Tale…
Little by little
The world tried to wear her down.
Chipping and gnawing its way to her bones
Until she dwindled so small she fell from her throne.
The mane of her hair became dry and broken
Her mighty voice shrunk to a whisper…
Often outspoken.
Her laugh once joyous and full..
Slowly became silenced and null.
Her eyes once bright
Just like the morning sunlight
Dimmed to the rim, no hope in sight.
Until one day, she had enough of the floor.
She declared to the world
“I can’t take this anymore!”
Her body felt weak, but was incredibly strong
She still had her wits all along.
She pressed her palms into the earth
Lifting her chest and head first.
The time had come
She finally remembered.
Little by Little,
She put herself back together.
Both feet grounded
She finally took a stand.
She reclaimed her power..
And took her life in her hands.
She chose to be brave.
She chose to pick the fight.
She chose to stand up for herself
and it finally felt right.
Laying back in her throne
She takes a deep breath.
She’s finally at ease.
She finally can rest.
The world still attacked with all of its might.
She stayed calmed through it all…
with absolutely no fright.
